Prologue Chandra’s Quest was published in 2002/2003. The idea for my book came to mind in 1988 however, I started writing my book in the late 1990’s after I quit my job and had more time to write. The first copies were unabridged and in 2005, I chose to revise the book. In the revised version, I added the prequel to book 4 of Chandra’s Quest. I wrote the prequel back in 1995 while I was on maternity leave. The short story was called Sor’an’s Secret Documents, which I kept the title but changed the number of pages it had. I changed the story plot and added new characters. In addition, I also changed the names of some the planets. For example, Europa is now Eur’leau. Moreover, I decided to change the story a bit by not writing it a journal. About the main character: Chandra the main character lived in a brothel house, called the Tower on the planet Eur‘leau. She is a passionate complex character with a deep secret; she was once an Enforcer (a cyborg soldier) who served Sor’an the Emperor of the planet Nykarus during the war between Nykarus and Earth. In the beginning: The story begins two hundred and fifty years before the birth of Leandra. It tells of Chandra's life; how Sor'an made her into one of many experimental cyborg soldiers called Enforcers. When his army invaded Earth, he forced Chandra to join the Ny’karin Empire by holding her children prisoners in cryo-chamber pods. In Sor’an’s Secret Documents, Book 4 Sor’an’s journal entries talk about Chandra’s betrayal to Sor'an after the war between Earth & Nykarus was over. The entries talk about what happens after he sends her to a Ny’karin penal colony facility on a cold and harsh ravaged planet in the Omega system. After five years, Sor’an decides to give Chandra a second chance so he requests for her release from the penal colony. On her way back to Nykarus, slave pirates attacked the prisoner ship and raided its cargo. Chandra was taken to one of Eur’leau’s moons, Dyna. She was sold to a madam who runs a brothel house on the continent of Atlan on the planet Eur‘leau. Five years later, the Madam (Adara) sells Chandra to a bounty hunter named Xenos, half lizard half man. Later she escapes and thus starts her difficult journey in finding the truth about herself and her connection to Sor’an. Many obstacles confront Chandra throughout her journey but with the help of her friends, Carlos, Treau (a changeling), and Keeja (her friend from the brothel house) she finds the answers she seeks and the memory she lost. In book 3, she is force to make a tough decision when Sor’an discovers that she is a spy for the Planetary Alliance. Upon discovering, Sor'an's true intentions and realizing that he found her out, Chandra sets out to destroy the Hive the main power source, the life force of the Ny’karin species. Leandra's story: In 2510 after two hundred and fifty years, Leandra who is the great--great granddaughter of Chandra is hired by Solan, a high ranking senator from the planet Dryad to find information about the ’Ny’karin Slayer’ and to retrieve a cryo-pod that was set a drift long ago into the 345-Gama sector of space. Leandra does not question his motives and thus agrees to search for the pod along with her expedition crew. Later Leandra’s Grandmother Su’lee gives her a journal belonging to Chandra. “What is in this journal that is so important?” Leandra asked. “It is best that you do not know. Keep it safe--promise me. All the answers you seek are in that vio-pod.” After her grandmother’s death, she was curious about the mysterious journal so she begins reading it and discovers that the famous Ny’karin slayer had a deep connection to Sor’an. A love that transcended through many lifetimes. Leandra visits the Hall of Records on the planet Eur’leau where King Xanthus gave Chandra the title ‘The Ny’karin Slayer’. History records show that Chandra destroyed the Ny’karin’s home world but history is not always accurate and can be tampered with so after reading through the journal Leandra realizes that the famed Ny'karin Slayer may have been a sympathizer to the Ny’karin Empire. She sets out to prove her suspicions by going to the planet Nykarus and finding records that Chandra had joined the Ny‘karins willing. “What would it gain to search for something that we were not instructed to look for,” Valen, one of her crewmembers asked. “I need to know the truth.” As Leandra investigates further, she discovered that Chandra was one of many victims that Sor’an manipulated into joining his war she was not a sympathizer after all. Leandra's extensive knowledge about Ny'karin technological advances in longevity convinced her that perhaps there is a chance that Chandra may be alive in the cryo-pod. Afterwards: Leandra and her crew find the cryo-pod and bring the Famed Ny'karin Slayer out of her endless sleep. Chandra's revival sets off a chain of events. The story climaxes when Chandra and Solan, (Sor’an’s reincarnated form) are finally reunited only to be executed by a time traveling bounty hunter named Makea. Leandra & Valen seek refuge in Avolea on the planet Eur’leau. They are wanted for the murder of Solan therefore they must live in hiding forever in Avolea, which is protected by a powerful force field. They are never found and neither was Leandra’s crewmembers that took that fateful journey to stop a sinister megalomaniac from conquering the entire galaxy. Important info: It was a challenge to write Chandra’s Quest and revise it as well. I proposed the idea that this story takes place in an alternate reality for it makes sense and it is much easier to believe. Pleas enjoy reading it as I enjoyed writing it.
